School and extracurricular activities

The school has 8 classes: preparatory, grades 1-4, a Russian as a Foreign Language group, and groups for preparing for Russian language exams in English schools – GCSE and A-Level.

We use textbooks created by a group of Russian scientists and educators specifically for children living abroad. We also use workbooks and teaching aids from Russian educational programs.

Our classes offer intensive, integrated, and comprehensive lessons based on the Russian primary school curriculum. All lessons are conducted in a playful manner, introducing children to the world around them using specialized textbooks for Russian-speaking children living abroad. Our developmental learning activities include the following modules:

intensive oral and written (from the second grade) speech development, grammar, reading (literary and educational), mathematics, music, fine arts, familiarization with the surrounding world, history and geography (starting from the 3rd grade).

Intensive and playful learning methods are the foundation of our methodology. Additional classes are offered at the request of students and parents. Currently, the following are available:

  • scientific toys (design of engineering systems and mechanisms)
  • dance class
  • animation studio

The following classes are held on school days during the holidays:

  • class of experiments
  • art studio
  • chess club
  • literary club
  • cooking class

A one-day kindergarten continues to operate successfully at St Joseph's Catholic Primary School (SW3 2QT).

Every year, a group of 4-year-old children who were taught to read by teachers in our kindergarten come to our school.

Our kindergarten program is musical, educational and developmental.

We are focusing on the state program for Russian kindergartens from the 1980s, as it was more comprehensive and developmentally oriented than the current one, but we are also working approximately one year ahead of the program.

In European kindergartens, by the age of 6, children learn letters and can write their own names.

Our kindergarten graduates can read and write in block letters at the age of four, which helps them learn to read English faster.
